Artist's Comments

Yoik, (pronounced "yo-eek") is a very good Mayan approximation for the words or symbols "leaf and wind" together as one, or as a single word or meaning.

One of the main character concepts. He is a young boy of about fifteen to sixteen years of age.

Awsome work!
I really dig this character.
It's for animation or just standing paper artwork?
:iconkallitechnis:
Very nice, it'll look even better when finished!

Thank you very much! These here are intended to be used as guidelines and character reference sheets for an animation project I'm working on, very much like the one you're working on I'm thinking? I visited your site and I must say, the concept artwork you have currently is amazing!

Absolute best of luck with your endeavor by the way. Really good animated movies are are always a special experience, and the world can never have too many. I think they capture a part of the imagination that you don't seem to get with live action films. Not necessarily better, but definitely different.

RASENGAN!!!

Aspen has really evolved from his inspirations into a solid character of his own.

Yes, I took him all the way back to his Alphonse roots, and restarted him from there. Funny, when I posted the blonde version of him, all I heard in response was crickets chirping. That should've been an indication there that I was totally off-track with my male lead design, heh heh. ^_^

Much more Mayan influence in him now.

OMG
This is superb!
