This was done for a gallery show here in Seattle Washington. I originally wasn't supposed to be part of the show, but I offered to do a piece after two of the other exhibitors stated that they might not make the deadline.
I felt bad for my friend, who was afraid that he wouldn't be able to fill the show, so I asked if I could do a piece for it.
The theme and title of the gallery show was "Your Egyptian Jets"
I was told I was basically free to do whatever I wanted, as long as it had some kind of reference to Egyptian culture.
My pic is of a punk girl with an Anubis helmet. She was supposed to have two guns, one "Death", and the other "Taxes", but I ran out of time, and could only draw in one.
Anyway, here's how my piece turned out. All of the pics were done on really big rolls of brown butcher paper, and inked in with Sharpie markers. The white is colored pencil. The original is about 5 1/2 feet tall, and the perspective of this shot makes her legs look a bit stubby, because it was taken on a stairwell looking down. Its odd, because when you look at the pic in person,. her legs look really long, almost too much so.
Oh, I wish I did actually. This was from a photo a friend took for me at the gallery where I had it on display. Unfortunately, it was sold before I could get a better picture. The photo I got was this size. Pity, I'd rather like to have had a nice resolution pic of this as well. ^_^
Shame you didn't get another picture of it, hope you made some good money off it, he he, might just be me, but has a very 'tank girl' feel to it too.
Anyhow, felt weird to have such a nice piece without some comments, wish I could see the face better though /cry, keep up the great work. pz.
